Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect once I submit a contact form on your website?
I will respond to you either by email, phone call, or text. Please feel free to include your preference of how I should initially contact you. I will be in touch within 24-48 hours of when you reach out. During our initial 15-20 minute phone call, I try to gather as much information from you about your needs and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. You will also have the opportunity to ask me questions about myself and my practice. If it appears that we are a good fit for each other, then I will offer to set up an appointment. Please know that even if I am not the right fit, I am always happy to try my best to point you in a direction that is helpful.
What can I expect prior to my first session?
After scheduling with me, you will receive an email that will prompt you to create an account on your secure client portal. On your account, you will review and electronically sign all treatment documents, demographic information, and provide a credit card on file for payments. This is very simple and only takes a few minutes!
Do you offer both in person and virtual appointments?
Yes! I offer in person appointments at my office in Narberth, PA. I also see many individuals virtually.
How do you take payment?
Before your first appointment, you will receive an email that will prompt you to create an account on your secure client portal. You will be prompted to file your credit card information on your account. I do require a credit card on file. I accept all major credit cards, cash or check at the time of service. You are also welcome to use your flexible spending and health saving accounts to make payments. All payments are due at the time of service.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 24 hour notice of cancellation, otherwise I do charge my fee for the full reserved time. The same applies to no shows. To help avoid this, you can set up reminder notifications through your client portal account.
Do you take insurance?
I am considered an "out of network" provider, which means that I do not take insurance. However, upon your request, I am happy to provide you with a document called a "superbill", which is basically a receipt for your services that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Many PPO and POS policies will offer partial or full reimbursement for therapy services. Please contact your insurance provider to learn more about your out-of-network benefits.
What is the cost of services?
My fee for a 45-50 minute individual therapy session is $175. If sessions go beyond 50 minutes, then my fee is prorated based on the time spent in session. Regarding phone calls between sessions, I am happy to offer brief check ins (under 10-15 minutes) for scheduling issues or quick questions or updates at no additional cost. However, if a call extends beyond that timeframe or becomes more of a therapeutic conversation, I do charge a prorated fee based on my regular session rate.
What is knit therapy?
During your individual therapy office visit, you are welcome to bring along your knitting projects to knit in session while talking. If you are interested in learning how to knit, I am happy to teach you this skill during your appointment time with me so that you can eventually knit in session. All ages are welcome! I like to encourage knitting because there are so many mental health benefits to it. Please see my "Knit Therapy" page for more information on this.
