Welcome- I'm Shari
Thanks for being here!
I am looking forward to learning more
about you!
About me...
Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to read a little more about me. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with kids, teens, college students, young adults, and adults (basically, all of the beautifully messy stages of life). Whether you are 7 or 47, I am here to help you navigate the ups and downs with compassion, humor, and practical tools that actually make a difference.
In therapy, I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a client-centered, humanistic approach-- which is a fancy way of saying that I'll meet you where you are, without judgment, and help you find strategies that feel right for you to navigate life in a way that makes you feel like you are in better control over your thoughts, feelings, and actions.
I believe that everyone has the capacity to grow, and I'm here to support that journey. It is an honor that clients choose to share their inner world with me. I am dedicated to maintain a safe, affirming environment for all identities and backgrounds that honors who you are. I provide a confidential, non judgmental space for you to openly share your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Therapy is your time that is specifically carved out for you to utilize it however you choose and I fully respect your time. Clients often tell me that I'm easy to talk to and that I am real with them. I like to bring warmth, humor and honesty into my sessions, and I'm not afraid to be transparent and human right alongside you (because trust me-- I'm not perfect either!).
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013 with a Master's degree in Social Work. I have since worked in many different mental health treatment settings and levels of care treating both youth and adults.
Outside of therapy...
I am a mom to two wild and wonderful young boys and married to my amazing husband. I am also the mom to our sweet dog. I'm an avid knitter (yep, I've made a sweater or 20), a fan of all things arts and crafts, and I find peace in baking to satisfy my crazy sweet tooth. As much as I love eating sweets, I also really enjoy challenging myself with a great work out at the gym. To relax, I love to unwind by getting lost in a binge-worthy show or a scary movie while working on my latest knitting project.
And as a fun fact, I am a huge Halloween enthusiast --we go ALL OUT! It's more than a holiday-- it's a creative outlet, a family tradition, and my favorite time of the year. If you ask, I will proudly share photos!
